Your privacy
Your privacy in Conversations
We know that opening a conversation about building something is not easy. You share personal context, fears, doubts. That deserves explicit respect, not a footnote. This page tells you exactly what we store, why, for how long, who sees it, and how you can ask us to delete it.
What we store when you submit a request
The minimum needed for the host to decide whether it makes sense to talk with you:
- Your LinkedIn identity: name, photo, profile URL. We need it so the host knows who they're going to talk to.
- What you write in the form: why now, what you're looking for, context, topics, availability. That's what the host reads to decide.
- Your acknowledgment of limits: the checkbox where you accept this is not consulting or mentorship.
- Operational metadata: creation date, request status, waitlist position if applicable.
What we DO NOT store
To make it crystal clear:
- We don't store your password. You log in via LinkedIn.
- We don't record the conversations.
- We don't read your private LinkedIn chats.
- We don't sell or share your data with third parties.
How we protect the system from abuse
To keep Conversations a healthy and limited space, we record minimal metadata about your behavior in the system:
- What actions you take and when (creating requests, exporting data, etc.). Used to apply the limits and detect abuse.
- Which network you access from, stored as an anonymized hash with a secret key. We cannot read your real IP.
- This history is included in your GDPR export on request, and is automatically deleted when you exercise your right to erasure.
- Never used for profiling, advertising or analytics. Only to protect the system and deliver on the promise of few honest conversations.
Who sees what
Each actor in the system sees only what corresponds to them:
- You: see your own request and everything you've written.
- The host: sees your request, your LinkedIn and what you wrote. They can also take private internal notes to manage their work. Those notes exist for them, not for you, and we never show them to you.
- Comienzos (admin): only accesses requests in operational cases (fixing a bug, handling a report). Each access is logged.
- Nobody else.
How long we keep your data
Automatic retention policy:
- While your request is active: indefinite.
- After it ends (completed, declined, expired): 12 months.
- After 12 months: we automatically erase what you wrote, keeping only anonymous metadata.
- After 24 months: we delete everything.
Your rights
At any time you can:
- Cancel your request while it's still active.
- Export your data in JSON format.
- Delete everything we have about you in Conversations, without explanations, in one click. It's irreversible.
